A few years ago, I found an interesting object in Divine Providence for a quarter.

This item is a cylinder wooden item that had micro miniature carvings of people inside. The carvings were intact in some of the scenes inside. Anyway, I thought to myself how detailed this item was.  What was it? I’ve never seen anything like it.  So, I have kept it and am trying to find any information about it. I have done some research on my own and I contacted an Asian Museum online because the characters in carvings look Asian.  I was told by this museum based in California that this item was not Asian but South American and that it was a religious type relic because of the scenes depicted. I didn’t even think of looking at the scenes depicted in the carvings. But it did make sense after they mentioned it. I still don’t know how old it is and what it was used for? I would like to know so if you have any ideas please comment.

Here are some images of the item:

Religious hand carved relic found at Divine Providence

Angels on the top over people praying.

Hand carved miniature people depicting religious scenes.

Old or vintage hand carved relic?

Outside closed cover of relic it even has rope to hang item.

Thanks for reading this post and please feel free to comment on this blog post if you know what this item is?. Thanks
